Auto interlock breathalyzers?

We've all heard that some courts mandate convicted drunk drivers to install (at their own cost) a breathalyzer interlock system that makes them have to demonstrate sobriety before their car will start.

Well, some discussions out there are asking if this sort of thing ought to be STANDARD EQUIPMENT — like a steering wheel lock or air bag! We think that's a very dubious thing to do, but you should read the article:
